I have always been interested in imaginary worlds and fictional architectures. I graduated with a thesis about the imaginary locations of Marcel Proust's A la recherche du temps perdu. In 1991 I made an exhibition about the interiors of the locked room murders of John Dickson Carr.
I wrote about literary houses, tourism in video games, grand hotels in novels and in movies.
With Aurélien Pfeffer I wrote Mondi virtuali (Castelvecchi, 2006), an essay about virtual worlds.
Then I wrote Second Life (Meltemi, 2007) and Rinascimento virtuale (Meltemi, 2008). In 2009 I published "Il cinema di Terence Young", a book about the film director who launched James Bond.
I also launched the Convention for the Protection of the Virtual Architectural Heritage and I founded Synthravels, the first travel agency for tours in virtual worlds.
My avatar in SL is Frank Koolhaas
