Angelo Scicolone’s Summary
Developing Software for Personal Computers has always been my passion. I started this passion as a self-taught when I was 9 years old and it later became my profession through hard studying and working experiences collected over time.
I developed and sold many different applications for the Mac OS and the Mac OS X operating systems under the “Zik Software” pseudonym, obtaining good reviews from various international magazines. In 2002, the software house REAL Software awarded me with the “REALbasic Cubie Award”, an international prize for the best software written using the REALbasic development environment.
Zik Software also develops custom software for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux platforms. We are specialized in multiplatform systems, desktop publishing and database applications and have already worked with various Italian and foreign companies, ranging from small firms to big corporations.

- Development and mainteinance of the software “Classifiche Sprint”, an application written in REALbasic and MySQL that allows people in the editor offices of Milan and Turin of this sports magazine to automate many different aspects of matches results and rankings management.
- Development of PhotoSprint, an application that allows to archive, find and crop photos. With Photosprint it’s easy to find an appropriate photo, crop it and place it on the final published page.
- Development of SprintPress, a complete, scalable and distributed publishing system solution based on Mac OS X Server, MySQL, REALbasic and InDesign, that integrates the core functionalities of the programs above with Adobe InDesign. SprintPress allows the editor-in-chief to create editions by simply doing drag and drop of templates onto pages, and makes possible for more editors to write in the same page at the same time, without using any desktop-publishing software, and to see the final result on the page (WYSIWYG editing). -
